Meeting Notes January
19th, 2008 Status of Incorporating: · In order to raise extra funds for
Incorrporating, we are going to do a 50-50 drawing, and a Silent Auction at the
Valimas Party on Feb 16th. Visitors: · Jo Novak from Everton joined us
for the meeting on Saturday. She is very personable and jumped right in
offering her time to meet with Preformance Cycle about sponsership for WOW. Jo
has been riding for about a year and will be a wonderful addition to our group.
Membership: · Jo will contact Preformance Cycle about a sponsership once
we find out more details on what is needed. Upcomming Events: Febuary- ·
Leslie is going to check with her contact on the Self Defense seminar to see
when he is available. · Valimas Party Febuary 16- Barb took a head count
of how many are planning on eatting the dinner provided, but everyone will
bring snacks, soda and tea from home. · Motel reservations an be made at
Rainbow Resort or Rock Away Inn. Also, Rose has extra room at her house as
well. · Jill will go to the Library Center at 10:00am Feb 16th incase
any new comers show up for the meeting. Then anyone that is intrested in
convoying down to Forsyth will meet in the library parking lot at noon.
· Febuarys meeting will be held at the VFW and start at 2:00, then the
Valimas Party will follow. April- · April Fools Day at Joplin
Powersports- April Fools Day is on a Tuesday, are they doing a special day on
Tuesday or the weekend? We need more info. June- · State Rally is in
Branson the 6th, 7th and 8th · Irene seems to have a good grasp on all
the details. Hotel Reservations can be made at Ramada Inn for $59 (next to Dick
Clark). · Suggestions for Stone County Cycle to possibly provide a hot
dog lunch. July- · Ride In at Boyne Mountain, MI. · It was agreed
that anyone intrested will bring a check or cash to Deana for $30 to the
Valimas Party so she can get our reservations made · Those planning on
going from our group are: Deana, Jill, Dana, Millie and Dennis. Leslie and Jim
think they may be able to go as well. · Irene, Jerry, Vicki and Julie
Patterson want to go, but are still waiting to see if they can get away. Spam:
· it was meantioned that several people are starting to get Spam from
our Women on Wheels distro list, but no one really knows how or why???? To end
up the day we all had lunch at Valentines. Even though it was freezing,
freezing cold, it ended up being a very nice day. Being with everyone lifted my
spirits and has me really looking forward to riding season again. I knew I had
been missing everyone, but you do not really realize it until everyone is all
togeather. Saturday was a very good day! I just talked to Ron (my hubby) at
PowerSports of Joplin, and the April Fools Day Ride will be on March 30th for
sure, but the starting time is not set in stone, but will probably start around
3:00. Last years ride was a lot of fun and there were about 300 bikes!
